The petroleum reports show that the economy is once again worsening, and the pace is accelerating.

After appearing to at least weaken less in August and September, October has taken a decided turn for the worse, and this correlates directly to what I have been posting on import and export activity. The numbers below show an economy turning down at a rapid rate, and are a harbinger of a very negative “holiday” retail season. Couple them with the horrible housing numbers and you see a long term continuation to the decline.
