This is not directly on point but it is important to everyone.

Today Congress will begin to debate the energy bill which includes CO2 Cap & Trade. This legislation, if it passes will have an effect on everyone and everyone’s investments.
We must put the issue of human contribution of CO2 into the atmosphere in proper perspective. There are several sources of atmospheric CO2. Here they are in descending order from the largest to the smallest:
By far, the largest source of atmospheric CO2 is volcanos. There are thousands of volcanoes and they are constantly emitting CO2 and other gases into the atmosphere.
The next lower source of atmospheric CO2 is seismic activities. For example there are over 10,000 CO2 emission sources in Yellowstone National Park. These sources emit CO2 constantly, 24/7. Iceland has even more sources of CO2. The oceans and land have many more hundreds of thousands of CO2 seismic emission sources.
The next lower source of atmospheric CO2 is the decay of organic materials such as dead plants and animals on the surface of the earth and in the oceans, lakes and rivers.
The next lowest source of atmospheric CO2 is respiration of animals, birds, insects and sea creatures. All animals breathe in oxygen and expire CO2.
Of all sources of CO2 the very lowest is mankind and all human activities. Man and his activities account for less the one half of one per cent (1/2%) of contributions to the atmospheric CO2 level. In comparison to all other sources of atmospheric CO2 man’s contribution is MINISCULE.
To believe that a reduction of man’s contribution of atmospheric CO2 could possibly have a profound effect on the weather is absolutely absurd. Mankind and all human activities could disappear from the face of the earth and earth would not know the difference!
