U-Turn? Catalan president puts independence on hold, hoping for Madrid talks

He has probably received death threats from the government of Spain.

The Catalan leader has signed a Declaration for Independence… although he took a step back from adopting it, in the hope of opening dialogue with Madrid. His speech deepened confusion amid the local population, about where the region now stands. RT’s Anastasiya Churkina has been following developments in Barcelona.
