This weekend I went to a Walmart to buy oil and a filter for my truck. On the way in at the door were two young men with a sign. They were tall–at least 6 foot– and appeared healthy. Their sign asked customers to contribute to their their school’s post-prom. Obviously, I am getting old, but it struck me that young people should be earning money through work–an exchange of services, like cleaning up the leaves, a car wash or another appropriate service. We are truly in decline when the system rewards handouts so well–bailouts for bankers, people living in homes that they don’t pay for. I have no idea where all this will end because our leadership is clueless about the American valuers that they so eagerly sell arounfd the world, but can’t impliment at home .
