I would have preferred Matteo Salvini, but he’s had a lot of problems in the last few years.
However, Salvini supports Meloni.
She has him and other men behind her.
And according to what she’s said – assuming she sticks to what she said – she is going to govern Italy like Victor Orban is governing Hungary.

What she’s saying here is significantly better than any other contemporary Western leader but, as we saw with Trump, talk is cheap.
