The Republicans have made a backroom deal with the Democrats to reschedule the vote on a bill that will make gay marriage federal law until after the midterms.
The GOP is planning to support the bill, but they don’t want voters in a supposed representative democracy to know.
The Democrats also think it’s a good idea (due to fear of it impacting minority vote).
What are they so afraid of?
I thought 71% of all American support gay marriage and LGBT?
Polling and surveys on issues like gay marriage, interracial marriage, etc. are meaningless because you are viciously punished if you publicly disagree with these institutional ideologies in America.
A good example cited is the 2000 Alabama referendum on interracial marriage.
Only 26% of Alabamans said they opposed interracial marriage to pollsters, but then when they went into the voting booths 41% voted to ban it!
