You think I’m joking?
EVs have always been a hoax.
They are nothing more than expensive golf carts.
FYI, only 3% of the cars on American roads are electric, and THEY ALL RUN ON COAL, OIL, GAS, AND URANIUM, i.e. they run on electric power which is overwhelmingly produced by traditional means.
Basically, EVs are environmental disasters.
If you didn’t know a single electric car battery weighing 1,000 pounds requires extracting and processing some 500,000 pounds of materials.
Regardless of what anyone says, that is not good for the environment.
Some of the major environmental concerns associated with battery production include:
Resource depletion: Extracting and processing the raw materials used in battery production, such as metals and minerals, can result in the depletion of finite resources and the destruction of natural habitats.
Chemical pollution: During the production of batteries, a variety of toxic chemicals and pollutants can be released into the environment, potentially contaminating soil, water, and air.
Greenhouse gas emissions: The production of batteries, particularly those based on lithium-ion technology, can result in significant greenhouse gas emissions due to the energy-intensive nature of the manufacturing process and the use of fossil fuels in energy production.
In a saner world, EV would disappear into the dustbin of history for a lot of reasons.
If a mere 10% of the cars on the roads were electric, the power grid in every state would go down. Nearly all our electricity comes from coal, oil, gas, and uranium.
Hydro, wind, and solar account for almost nothing.
So, the EVs actually run on hydrocarbons/fissile materials.
The 100 KW batteries fail after about six years, and cost about $24,000 to replace. At that point the car is worthless and has to be taken to the junk yard.+
The batteries cannot be recycled, and are an ecological nightmare.
The copper, lithium, cobalt and other minerals needed for batteries are in very limited supply. The amounts needed for increased numbers of EVs simply don’t exist.
Soon, the prices for these minerals will be totally unaffordable. This will destroy the entire economy.
GM now offers a 9,000 pound, $110,000 electric Hummer by reservation only.
They sold out the first day!
However, the 200 KW batteries will cost about $48,000 to replace, i.e. after six years tops, the Hummer will go to the junk yard with the rest of the EVs.
This is just another example of a world gone insane.
Also imagine how much it would cost to use EV-powered cruise ships/trans ocean shipping, and how efficient that would be.
Reality will manifest itself in the end as it always does.
