Rand Paul to Introduce Audit The Fed Bill

I’m not quite sure how many times this has been introduced by Ron and Rand over the years, but it’s safe to say it has a better chance of passing now than ever before, right?

WASHINGTON, D.C. – With the U.S. Senate expected to vote on S. 2155, the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act, this week, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) today announced he will introduce his “Audit the Fed” bill, which would authorize the first-ever thorough audit of the Federal Reserve System, as an amendment to the financial reform legislation.
“While we have made great strides in reviving our economy through curbing overzealous regulation and cutting taxes, lasting prosperity will escape us if we do not hold the enabler of big government and our astronomical national debt accountable. It’s time for the Senate to side with the American people by removing the shackles on congressional oversight and lifting the Fed’s veil of secrecy. It’s time for us to pass Audit the Fed,” said Dr. Paul.

  1. Abolish the payments to “Fed owner” banks on excess reserves and FRA7A dividends. Return all of the equity stock in the Fed to the Congress from the “owner” banks.

  2. I’d love to see this happen, but any legislation will likely have no enforcement teeth whatsoever. The Federal Reserve tells the government what to do, not the other way around. We’ve already suffered through more than a century of unconstitutional fiat currency backed by nothing but political promises and thin air.

  3. Hate to break this to you Paul…..this is NOT going to fly…..you’ll crash and burn before the Fed gets audited. Hope you have your life insurance paid up as your wife just may be collecting the benefit soon.
